Hugo Chavez, Venezuela’s President launches a mobile phone on his TV show, Vergatario. He hopes it becomes the world’s cheapest mobile phone. And its name come from a lang word for penis. Is it a penis phone? Verga is slang for penis and vergatorio is a minted word which means excellent but retains connotations from its root.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. The phone has a camera, WAP internet access, FM radio, and MP3/MP4 players for play music and videos. And the priced just $15. It’s really cheap, hhuh, only £10. Why is it so cheap? Because the government give subsidy which cut retail price to a quarter of the manufacturing cost. This phone is expected to be producted 600.000 units this year and export to Caribbean. “Whoever doesn’t have a Vergatario is nothing,” Chavez joked.
