How To Increase The Baterry Life of Android Phone

The typical Android phone is introduced with so many features. When you use lots of features at a time, most probably you will notice that the phone battery seem to get drained very fast.

In order to decrease the power consumption, you have to stop and close some of these features. You can also see the battery reduction for particular phone usage. To go to the Android’s in built Battery Usage Screen, go to the Settings after that select the option “About Phone” and go to battery.

For making calls and screen display, the phone consumes lots of battery power. When you set the value of screen brightness to 50% (normal), the percentage of power consumption will be much higher. Follow the instructions given below and make some changes in your phone’s configuration to extend the life of battery charge.

1) First of all you have to decrease the brightness of display screen to some comfortable value. In case, you often use the phone in outdoors then set the high brightness value because the performance is pretty important than battery life.

For adjusting the brightness, go to “Settings” and then “Display” and choose “Brightness” option. The best option for you is “Auto Adjust” however; you have to adjust it manually when you need maximum battery life for your phone. Also, reduce time for a Screen timeout to your comfortable value.

2) When you allow tasks to run in background, they can cause a serious drain out of the battery. In such situations, it is very helpful to use a Task Killer feature such as Tasker or Advanced Task Manager. If you don’t need such applications that run in the background at all, you could just uninstall them. To do so, go to “Settings” in your phone, select “Applications” and use “Manage Applications” to uninstall them.

3) Continuous synchronization of apps with internet is one more general reason for extra power consumption from battery. These apps could be FaceBook Application, Email Application, Seesmic and Twitter Apps. You can change sync intervals settings to get optimum battery life.

To change the settings for the Email App, just reduce the Email check Frequency in the “Account Settings” option. For the Apps like twitter and Seesmic, go to “Settings” option and select background Updates and set an Update Interval. For the Facebook App, just go to settings from the main screen and then adjust the Interval by just refreshing it.

4) In case you are not going to use Internet on your phone at all, use APNDroid to disable Internet Connection. APNDroid only operates on AT&T and T-Mobile. It does not work with Verizon in any way.

5) Using the phone efficiently can definitely boost battery life. You can change processor clock of your phone to do so. Android Market is provided with special application such as SetCPU with which you can change value of processor clock. Lower value gives higher battery life but at the cost of performance.

6) To obtain more battery life, recalibrating your battery will absolutely help you. This tweak works in only some cases. However, it will be better to try out with your phone.

For this, fist of all drain out your phone’s battery completely, it will switch off now. Then turn on your phone again and wait for switching off of the battery again. After that, charge the battery completely for about 8 hours and again repeat the above process. You will notice a large difference if some damages were previously caused on your battery.

7) Widgets on the phone’s Home Screen are the next things which are well known as battery killers. The widget uses Internet to collect the data, so that it directly affects the battery life. When it comes to Animated Wallpapers, even though you remove it you will not see any big difference in the battery loss.

8) Next comes the precision using of your phone. Some people use their phone every few minutes to just look at the home screen, which is really wastage of battery power. Using and leaving your phone in hot surroundings can surely affect the battery life.

9) The batteries of your mobile phones tend to drain more if you use your Wi-fi or your Bluetooth connection on a continuous basis. Mobile phones will be trying to look for other networks and devices if these features are left in the active mode. It is always better to switch off these services, especially when you are moving out of your house. Switching them off is quite easy and you will get the option to do so in the phone settings menu.

10) When there is a real necessity of using GPS, just use Wireless Networks rather than “Using GPS Satellites”. In addition to this, you have to turn off GPS using features such as Weather, Twitter and other GPS using apps.

There will be a significant change in your phone’s battery life when you perform all the above things carefully.
